DARREN K HAWKINS

Darren started his career in the entertainment industry at age 15 with his first band, playing bass guitar and singing lead vocals, and for the next ten years played in various bands around Sydney, Australia.

 

During this time, Darren wrote and co-wrote songs played in his bands, playing a variety of instruments on his recorded music from bass  classical, acoustic, 12 string and electric guitar, percussion, programming electric drums and keyboards, signing lead and at times backing vocals.

 

After ten years in the music industry Darren took a short break, returning not to music, but to the film and television industry.

 

At first, in front of camera, Darren worked in bit parts before undertaking training and beginning to find work in more prominant roles in made for tv movies, television series, commercials, music videos, independant and major studio feature films.

 

By 2002 Darren had begun spending time behind the camera, assisting in sound recording, continuity, grips, gaffing, assistant directing, assitant editing before he began working as a producer and director on not only his own scripts, but being askied to direct other client's projects.

 

Always willing and keen for work, Darren continues to be a thriving part of not only the independant, but the mainstream film and television industry in Australia.
